PUCP Guitar Orchestra

Composed of music degree students, invited young talents, and outstanding guitarists from Peru, the orchestra aimed to nurture technical development and promote ensemble repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary, with special attention to Peruvian and Latin American music.

Under my artistic direction, the orchestra performed at Peru’s most important venues—including the Gran Teatro Nacional and Teatro de Los Incas—and took part in major guitar festivals like the ICPNA International Guitar Festival. These appearances delighted audiences and drew praise from both critics and students.

It was a deeply fulfilling experience to collaborate with young Peruvian talents such as Diego Flores, Jorge Jara, Agustín Baltazar, and others, many of whom went on to win international competitions. The orchestra played a key educational role while simultaneously establishing a strong presence in Peru’s cultural life

Through this ensemble, I was able to foster a shared musical journey—teaching, performing, and building a sense of community rooted in classical guitar. It remains one of the most rewarding chapters of my career.
